It is with great pleasure that I serve as the 5th Executive
Director of the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority.
I am particularly delighted to serve in an agency that
has such a tremendous impact on the lives of so many.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hard
working dedicated staff who contributes to meet the challenges
of providing affordable housing in the territory. The
VIHFA's Board of Directors has continuously charted the
course of our affordable housing program. It is my privilege
to be working with such a dynamic board.
While the VIHFA's mission is to offer programs that assist
in the development of affordable rental and homeownership
communities throughout the Virgin Islands, our number
one priority is helping first-time home buyers obtain
their first home. Since the VIHFA begun operation, we
have consistently risen to the challenge and produced
successful communities throughout these islands. Our impact
can certainly be seen throughout the islands, specifically
in the areas where the Authority has develop or assisted
in the development of housing communities. As the VIHFA
moves forward, we will strive to continue to meet our
mandate and produce safe, sanitary, decent affordable
housing for all Virgin Islanders.

Housing Summit
The second Housing Summit in the history of the
Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA)
was held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Carambola
Beach Resort on St. Croix. These sessions armed
attendees with the necessary tools for "Laying the
Foundation for the Future of Affordable Housing."

In the News
Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 authorizes
a tax credit of up to $8,000 is available for qualified
first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence
on or after January 1, 2009 and before December
1,2009.

firms or individuals to furnish labor, equipment,
materials and services necessary for Repair &
Renovations to the Emergency Housing Communities
at Estate Profit and Campo Rico, on the island of
St. Croix.
