The month of June is designated as “National Homeownership Month.” In acknowledgment of this, the Virgin Islands Housing Authority hosts a “Housing Exposition” in the Districts of St. Croix and St. Thomas/St. John annually in June. This amazing event has gained momentum over the last five years, which is now established as a transcendent affair. 

The Housing Expo is intended to make information available to current and potential homeowners.  Exhibitors include lending institutions, housing management/leasing organizations, construction contractors and product vendors, insurance companies, landscaping contractors, and utility providers will be onsite to provide valuable information to attendees. The Authority’s goal is to arm homeowners and future homeowners with the skills to acquire, enhance, and maintain not only their home, but also the communities in which they work and reside.  Other featured presentations include “How to…” workshops and the “Design on a Dime” workshop. Varieties of door prizes are raffled every hour on the hour.

In preparing attendees for homeownership, associates of VIHFA facilitate financial management and other homeownership-related workshops. Additionally, onsite information on current VIHFA housing community developments is made available to attendees.
