The Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA) will begin renovation of the Savan Community Playground in March of 2019. The contractor of the Savan Playground is ABC Concepts, Inc. Construction is expected to be completed by July 31, 2019.
The Emergency Home Repair of the Virgin Islands (EHRVI) Program currently has over 500 skilled roofers working in the Territory to replace roofs that were destroyed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. All roof repairs and replacements must comply with the new Virgin Islands building codes that were updated in April 2018.
The Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority wishes to inform the public that its St. Thomas office located in the Frenchtown Plaza and the St. Croix office located in the Frits Lawaetz Complex in Frederiksted will be closed on Thursday, July 16, 2015 and Friday, July 17, 2015 for staff to participate in strategic planning and training sessions. The Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (“VIHFA”), the state allocating agency for the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program, hereby gives notice that the Territory’s Calendar Year 2015 Qualified Allocation Plan (the “2015 QAP”) has been approved.
The Authority is currently in the midst of developing a Pre-Apprenticeship program in conjunction with the Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL). This program will give unemployed individuals the opportunity to build their skills, experience and knowledge in the construction industry while gaining employment.
